The problem
A Florida-based investment company purchases properties through government auctions in multiple states every year. The company analyzes and determines which properties are worth bidding for prior to their purchase. Manual analysis is a painstaking process due to the large number of properties listed for auctions by each county.
The solution
The client approached Kriti Consulting to build an automated analytics solution to speed up the decision-making process. First, we conducted extensive research to find the right government data sources holding public records. Then, we developed a solution to load the auction and public records into Azure; clean, merge and enrich the massive datasets; run an algorithm to recommend properties for investment; and provide the results through a data mart.
The value delivered
The time between a county's release of an auction list and the decision to purchase properties was significantly reduced during the auction season. The solution allowed the client to focus on value-added tasks such as neighborhood review, legal document review, and customer interaction. The success of the solution prompted our client to request us to enhance and roll it out for additional states.
The problem
A large national healthcare provider needed accurate headcount and FTE reports on a monthly basis for financial reporting.
The solution
We began with a review of headcount and FTE calculation processes based on the hire and termination records in HRIS and payroll records. Then, we clearly defined headcount, FTE and related business metrics and sought an agreement on the definitions between HR and Finance stakeholders. We also identified opportunities to correct the calculations and improve data quality. The implementation included changes to headcount and FTE reports, and the development of new data quality monitoring reports.

Due to the improved accuracy in headcount and FTE reporting, board members expressed improved confidence in the management of the company.
